this trip around the sun

Hello, friends. It’s been awhile. How were your holidays? Ours were beautiful. Simple. Full. The way I had hoped. In the end we devoted more attention to our Advent wreath than our tree. Never hung stockings. Never decorated the mantle. Most of the decorations for decking the halls are still nestled under the attic eaves. And you know what? I don’t think we even missed them. And the best part…the celebration isn’t over! Today we’re welcoming another round of out-of-towners. Looking forward to a day of feasting, laughter, and rocking babies. I hope your day is full and fulfilling. Happy New Year!

  1. Happy New Year to you and your family!

  2. Ours were very nice, too, and not over yet! Thursday’s Epiphany, I have a bit of vacation time, and I’m going to keep listening to joyful Christmas music, and do some baking, sewing, visiting with friends, and whatever else seems appropriately holiday-ish! (God willing)

  3. Happy new year friend!!!!

  4. It’s good to see you back here… and so glad to hear that you celebrated well. Our holiday has pretty much been packed up. We are focusing on school days and intentional prayer and holding friends close on busy days. It’s not “holiday” but it’s good!

  5. Gosh that sounds wonderful. Simple – my mantra for the new year.

    Happy New Year!

  6. Happy New Year! Ours was filled with good food, warm drinks and lots of handmade gifts.

  7. Happy New Year! We entertained visitors until this week as well. The full house was lively and chaotic, the stuff of my own childhood memories. Now, we’re enjoying the quiet.
